Rearranging My Days

Apple Blossom Time in Central Ohio
We've done it.  The house is listed and the showings have begun.  The weather has not been very helpful, though, but at least we're heading out of winter at long last.  We have yet to get the majority of garden beds weeded. When its not raining, its freezing cold around here.  Today it's 40 degrees; yesterday was 77.  The tornadoes marching through here have been kind to us so far, but there are many barns and trees down all around the area.  Crazy weather this year.

I'm working on more wedding bags and pillows in the Sewing Room.  I was fortunate to find an old ivory wedding dress at the Goodwill Store made entirely of silk.  It had a full skirt and a long train which has yielded several yards of lovely silk and lace.  Such a fantastic find!  I was thrilled.  I just wish I had more time to work with it...I have so many plans.

Unfortunately, most of my time is taken with going through all the keepsakes from my folks and Lee' folks.  I've been cleaning, repairing, photographing and researching values of quite an assortment of things.  This all seems so overwhelming sometimes because we have to be able to pick up and leave for house showings at any time.  The good thing about that is that our house remains pretty darn clean everyday.  The bad thing is that I have to put everything away out of sight and stop working on my projects to leave for a couple of hours.  It's hard to get any headway on the work this way, that's for sure.

I'm going to be limiting my computer time.  So I'll not be blogging as often, but I'll be reading my favorite blogs when I can.  I'm just reading though, and not commenting much, so please don't think I've stopped following you just because I'm silent.  I still look forward to reading what you all have been doing. Let's hope we sell the house soon so we can get day to day life can get back to a semblance of normalcy again.  Ciao for now....

  1. Good luck on selling your house, I hope it's an easy transition.

  2. Praying for your house to sell quickly - it's so disrupting to have to live like that. Just check in when you can to let us know how you're doing - and lurk away, you can only do so much! Sounds like a GREAT find at the Goodwill.

  3. Good luck with the house thing, I think that would be hard and take lots of energy. Hope things move along quickly for you. Put a couple of your projects in tote bags so when you need to vacate you can take a project with you.

  4. Great suggestion, Sandy! I've got some hand embroidery I can put into a bag and work on while sitting in the local metro park waiting until "visitors" leave.
