New Toy

For a few weeks now I've been considering purchasing a used embroidery machine. After talking with several people and visiting some dealers, I found a year-old Bernina that caught my eye. Lee took me to the Bernina shop while he ran a few errands, and the owner spent nearly five hours showing me all the things I can do with this machine. Yeah, I bought it. Happily, too, I might add. I'm still learning, but it seems so very easy to learn and use. Everything I've tried works out quite nicely. I was working on a sweater when I brought it home, so I incorporated a few design borders and finished that sweater that evening. Worked great. The two-step button hole stitch works wonderfully.

Today I designed and stitched out a motif for my daughter's wedding reception gifts for her approval. It worked the very first time I tried it. I'm really impressed and oh-so-happy.

I can't wait to get started on a new project tomorrow morning.

  1. when will we see the motif for your daughters wedding?

  2. Gee, I didn't take a picture of it before I sent it of to her. She decided on something else, so I just deleted it. It was a heart wrapped in ivy with their initials and their wedding date inside.

  3. Ooohhh, we are preparing for a wedding, too! And a couple of babies! Never a dull moment around here! When is your daughter's wedding? Ours is March 28 of 2010!

  4. Hey Nancy,
She's getting married in August of this year. Congrats on your upcoming events. When are the babies due?
