Hi All! Happy New Year. Hope 2013 brings you Happiness and Love.

I've finally gotten some pictures of our new home uploaded and thought you'd like to see what I've been up to since September.

We hope to have all the work done by February 1st .... well, all the major work. The contractor promises we should have the construction done by then. I'm not sure they will be able to dig the footers for the deck off the dining room until Spring, so it may be awhile before we can call it complete.

We've knocked down the wall between the kitchen and the dining room and have replaced the kitchen floor (which smelled - ugh) with new oak. It looks terrific. Today the guys are sanding the old floors so they can stain and finish them next week. Then the new cabinets are going in. They are working on plugging up the defunct registers in all the rooms trying to match the existing plaster walls.

All the closets are being skimmed with plaster to reduce the rough texture on the walls as well. This should reduce the scraped knuckles and clothing snags. I'm stripping off the wall paper in the bathroom which is a real pain. The walls weren't primed, so the glue isn't releasing. Alot of scraping and scrubbing, It's slow going, but it IS going, and I'm looking forward to getting new lights and mirror on the new wall color.

The house had a knotty pineden in the back of the house, between the dining room and bathroom. The washer and dryer were outside in the garage, so I decided to make this room into a laundry room instead of a den. I'll be painting the walls and using the built-in cabinets in my sewing room (which will be the back bedroom that has 2 windows).

I'll post more later on. Right now I've got to get on the road for the 1.5 hour trip to the house so I can scrape more glue off the bathroom wall. Ciao for now.....
