Mom's China Bowl

The bowl that houses the dressing at Thanksgiving table.
Southern Lady's Vintage is hosting a blog party today, and the theme is Vintage China.  Here's my contribution.  It is a serving bowl from Mom's service.  Mom was not my mom until 1960 when she married my dad at age 51.  She had always supported herself as a telephone operator, buying her own home and car.  This was so contrary to how women typically lived, but she was not a typical woman.  I love this dinnerware, and even though I have a nice set of my own, this is the set we always use.  Thanksgiving isn't Thanksgiving without it.

  2. I am so happy to see you join in! It is so nice that you have your Mom's serving bowl. It is very pretty. And what is even more beautiful is that you have the memories behind it. Your Mom sounds like a wonderful, strong and inspirational woman! I hope you can join in next week too. Did you vote for next week's theme?? If not you are welcome to vote.
