After visiting with our bride-to-be in St. Louis, she gave me the go ahead to try out Vogue #8242. I have more than enough yards of blue silk in my stash to make a prototype for her bridesmaids to try on. If everyone is in agreement, then we can pick out the fabric of the bride's choice. It looks fairly straight-forward, and I don't anticipate any problems, but I'll be sure to post about them if some occur.
In the meantime, I've had a couple of requests for spankies and capris, so I'll be finishing those orders up this weekend and working on a few more purses. Of course, I have another class to attend ... yippee!!!!
It has been a lovely trip to visit the kids. Here in Wisconsin, the sun has been shining and the snow is melting, the birds are tweeting, and all the buds on the trees are starting to swell. Yesterday we went to the kid's track meet and it was just beautiful, even though it was a little windy. Its been a year since we've been to a track meet. Today we enjoyed the library on campus, catching up on professional journals and watching the squirrels do acrobatics outside. This is a beautiful campus.
We got to St. Louis just in time for the snowfall last week, but it didn't accumulate. It was pretty chilly for a couple of days, but everything was in bloom...forsythia, daffodils, tulips, dogwoods, crab apples, and peartrees, too. Luckily, we didn't have to spend much time outside in the cold, just in a nice warm car, enjoying the scenery. By the time we made it to the Lodge, it was beautiful weather. We talked with the wedding specialist and cleared up all our questions, and I was able to take several pictures for the relatives. Next week I'm hoping to get a new website loaded up for friends and family of the happy couple to go to for information on the local attractions and places to stay for the wedding and such. We even have campground information and several brochures of nearby entertainment venues. I'm working on a map of the area, then I can get the invitations printed.
Well, I'm off to the pool. Ciao for now......
